Notice is hereby given by the Metro Vancouver (“the Corporation”) of its intent to contract for a three (3) year period with Mica Technologies Ltd for ICS network Switches. This contract will have an estimated value of up to $225,000 over the 3-year term.

The services are expected to include: 

• The supply of ICS network switches
• The supply of ICS network switch ancillary components, like but not limited to, SFPs.

The Corporation did not call for competitive bids for the following reasons:

• The Corporation) has been using the network switches since 2019 and the equipment  fits our needs
• The network software and networks are required to be consistent throughout the system for supportability, monitoring and protection of critical infrastructure. It would be a significant undertaking and cost to procure different equipment requiring the replacement of existing systems.

• Staff are trained to use the system and are active users.
