To conduct a comprehensive marine monitoring program to assess possible effects, if any, of the Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant deep-sea outfall discharge on sediment quality. Sampling will be conducted on a north-south transect on the 80-m depth contour in the Iona study area. The primary tasks include sample collection and analysis, data analysis and interpretation, and reporting for the 2022 program conducted under pre-freshet conditions in late March/early April. 

This monitoring program consists of work to be carried out in 2022 with an option to extend for an additional one or two years (e.g., 2023 and/or 2024), to be evaluated and awarded, based on the mutual agreement between the Corporation and the successful Proponent.
