The Corporation seeks the services of a qualified consultant with expertise in design, construction, and performance analysis of earthfill dams. The consultant shall carry out a hydrotechnical and geotechnical assessment of Metro Vancouver’s Rice Lake North Dam and Rice Lake South Dam, located on Rice Lake within the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve (LSCR) in North Vancouver. The scope of work has been packaged so that Proponents can submit proposals to perform all or part of the scope of work.

The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate the hydrotechnical and geotechnical performance of the Rice Lake dam systems, and establish a proposed dam failure consequence classification in accordance with the BC Dam Safety Regulation. Some components of the work are preliminary in nature, facilitating a phased approach including more detailed investigations and assessments to occur as required in future assignments.
