The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals for consulting engineering services to select, develop, calibrate and validate hydrological models for Capilano and Seymour Watersheds.  In addition to that, a sophisticated state-of-the-art inflow and outflow forecasting system for Capilano and Seymour reservoirs has to be developed. These hydrological models with the inflow forecasting systems have to be integrated with the two existing 1-D models to determine the outflows at the river channel downstream of the dams based on the forecasted inflows and selected dam operations. Furthermore, Metro Vancouver would like to review any available Artificial Intelligent (AI) software that can be used as a dam release forecasting tool. This is a multi-phase (over a few years) project focused on innovative technologies, durable and cost-saving approaches that will provide the long-term benefit for a growing region on the Canadian West Coast to meet its future water supply goals.
