Notice is hereby given by the Metro Vancouver Housing Corporation (“the Corporation”) of its intent to contract for five (5) years with Corporate Services for the BASIS Software Subscription and Support. This contract will have a total value $140,100 USD.

The services are expected to include: 

• Basis Desktop Full User licenses

• Basis Fleet Maintenance-only User licenses

The Corporation did not call for competitive bids for the following reasons:

• The Corporation) has been using the software since 2020 and the software fits our needs.
• The current software contains all of the Corporation’s fleet information and ensures we are in compliance. 

• It would be a large undertaking to procure new software and customize fleet information, and it would be costly for Metro Vancouver to procure new software due to the implementation costs and time needed from staff.

• BASIS provides valuable support.

• Staff are trained to use the system and are active users.

Service providers wishing to object to this decision should submit their response through the Bidding System (https://metrovancouver.bidsandtenders.ca) no later than 2:00:00 p.m. local time on the 27^th day of December, 2024, presenting specific reasons for their objection. If warranted, a meeting with the parties may be called to receive presentations regarding this contract. 

Contractors with the required expertise, experience, resources and the proven ability to offer the same or better solution at a lower cost, will be key criteria with regard to the consideration of contractor objections. Metro Vancouver’s decision in this regard will be final.
