The consultant will prepare a comprehensive profile for the foodtech industry in the Metro Vancouver region, focusing on:

• The companies and organizations within the industry and subindustries where the region has particular strengths (Invest Vancouver has developed a preliminary list of foodtech companies which will be shared with the consultant).
• Existing integration and opportunities for further integration of the region’s foodtech industry with nearby food-producing areas, particularly in other parts of BC. 
• Ways in which foodtech innovation can advance provincial priorities such as food sustainability and sovereignty, Indigenous reconciliation, and strengthened provincial supply chains (e.g., nearshoring).
• The region’s value-proposition (e.g., talent, ecosystem) and the key factors that set the Metro Vancouver region apart from other competing jurisdictions, including comparisons to relevant competitor jurisdictions.
• Priorities to catalyze significant and sustainable growth. What, if anything, could be done to strengthen the regional value-proposition? What are the impediments? 
• Key messaging to promote the industry and attract foreign direct investment (FDI) to the region in the short, medium, and long term.
