Metro Vancouver has a twinned sanitary sewer system that conveys flows from the Crescent Beach Pump Station (CBPS) to the South Surrey Interceptor (SSI) in the City of Surrey, BC. It consists of an existing 500 mm diameter fiber-reinforced plastic Force Main, referred to as the Crescent Beach Force Main (CBFM), as well as an existing 750 mm diameter steel force main, referred to as the Crescent Beach Force Main 2 (CBFM2). Phase 1 of this project is to upsize and replace the most northern reach of the exiting CBFM to a new High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe to increase system resilience and conveyance capacity. The project area extends from the SSI discharge location to the north end of the Serpentine River with an approximate length of 1500 meters and will involve trenchless crossings beneath Highway 99 and BC Rail Line adjacent to Colebrook Road
